Pitmaster X’s Smoked Meatloaf and Halloween Mummy Meatloaf Recipe

Pitmaster X created a video titled ‘I never made a Meatloaf recipe that tasted better than this,’ featuring a classic smoked BBQ meatloaf and a Halloween-themed bacon-wrapped mummy meatloaf stuffed with cheese and onions. Both versions are smoked and finished with a homemade BBQ glaze. [S1]

Base Smoked Meatloaf Recipe

The base recipe uses equal portions of ground beef and pork (1 kg / 2.2 lb total), an egg, breadcrumbs, BBQ seasoning, garlic, grated onion mixed straight into the ground meat (presented as the secret to a juicy result), and parsley. [S1]

Halloween Mummy Meatloaf Version

The Halloween version contains a cheese and onion filling, is wrapped with thin bacon strips to resemble a mummy, and is decorated with hard-boiled egg and jalapeño slices for “eyes.” [S1]

Cooking and Glazing

Both meatloaf versions are smoked with real wood and finished with a homemade BBQ glaze made of ketchup, apple cider vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, BBQ seasoning, and honey. [S1] The loaves are smoked at 120°C / 248°F until a smoky color develops, then glazed (with bacon added for the Halloween version), and cooked further at 150°C / 302°F until the internal temperature reaches at least 71°C / 160°F.
